The pub, sold in an off-market deal this week, was the last of the eight Head of Steam outlets run by Carolyn and Tony Brookes. The others were sold to Camerons Brewery in December 2013.
Tim Martin of Fleurets, who acted on behalf of JDW, said the deal represented “not just an attractive, prominent unit but also, very favourable lease terms which were secured by the outgoing tenant in exchange for a hefty premium a number of years before”.
As part of the terms of the deal, the pub will now be renamed.
