The programme called 'Losing your Local?' examined why with Britain's pubs supporting nearly a million jobs, and injecting an average of £80,000 into their local economy each year, pubs are closing, and asked whether the pub industry can bounce back.
Among pubs featured in the show was the newly opened community pub the Bevy in Brighton, which is the first community pub to open on a housing estate.
The pub opened earlier this month after a three-year campaign by residents.
Locals fought to save the Bevy by raising much of the necessary £200,000 themselves. More than 700 people purchased ‘community shares’ and are now owners — the most of any co-op pub in the country.
