The awards, part of UK levy board for cereals and oil seeds HGCA’s Breakfast Week 2015, are aimed at determining the nation’s best hot and cold breakfasts.
Karen Levy, marketing executive at HGCA, said: “We are excited to be running the awards for a second year and look forward to receiving entries from even more venues this year.”
HGCA is encouraging any remaining potential entrants to submit their best breakfasts before registrations close on January 16. Members of the public can vote for nominees online or in participating establishments until 18 January 2015, with the winner set to be announced on Monday, 26 January.
As well as hot and cold categories, one entrant will receive a special award presented by TV chef Phil Vickery. Now in its 16th year, Breakfast Week aims to raise awareness of the importance of breakfast and drive community engagement within the industry.
Keith Gurney, founder of The Tavern Company in Liverpool the overall winner of last year’s awards, said: “It was a great way to get our valued customers to show their appreciation for our breakfast menu and we were delighted with the local support we had.
“We had some great media coverage after the event and we’ve now even extended our breakfast hours.”
