British fry-ups pitched against US steaks in new O’Neills breakfast menu
The eat-in or takeaway menu, which asks ‘which side of the pond do you like to breakfast?’, includes a number of variations of the classic British fry-up along with a selection of American-style steaks and pancakes.
Fry-up options include the classic breakfast – fried free-range egg, crispy grilled back-bacon, pork sausage, a grilled half-tomato, hash brown, Heinz baked beans, and a choice of brown or white toast – for £3.99.
A vegetarian classic breakfast is available for the same price. There is also the sizzling breakfast, which features two fried eggs, two bacon, two sausages, toast, a grilled half-tomato, plus a flat mushroom and a bed of potato and onion hash, for £5.99.
Unfinishable feast
For larger appetites, there is the unfinishable breakfast. This gut-buster comes with four sausages, four bacon, three fried eggs, grilled tomatoes, flat mushrooms and baked beans. Served on a bed of potato and onion hash, it is available with an unlimited amount of toast and tea or coffee for £10.49.
Breakfast butties, meanwhile, come in four varieties – egg, bacon, sausage and veggie sausage – at £2.99 each. On the American side, customers have a choice of three pancakes.
The maple syrup option is £2.99, while the grilled back-bacon & maple syrup pancake and the raspberry compote & fluffy cream pancake are both £3.99. Steak and eggs dishes start with a 5oz rump steak and two fried-eggs on a bed of potato and onion hash for £7.99.
Customers can upgrade to an 8oz sirloin steak for £11.49, a 10oz rump steak for £9.99, or a 10oz rib-eye steak for £11.99.
Build-your-own
There is also the option of ‘building your own breakfast hash heaven’, which starts with a bed of potato and onion hash, grilled half-tomato and toast for £3.99.
From there, customers can ‘load up’ any number of sausages, bacon, eggs, hash browns, toast, grilled-tomatoes and baked beans for 50p each.
A lighter choices menu features a breakfast omelette, porridge pots and muffins for £1.99 each. Alternatively, toast and choice of jams costs 99p.
