Tiger Bills opens first pub kitchen concept

Tiger Bills, the Lifestyle Hospitality Group Thai-grill restaurant brand, is opening its first pub kitchen sites as part of plans to franchise the concept into existing businesses, the PMA’s sister title M&C Report has learnt.

The first pub, the Cornish Arms in Port Isaac, Cornwall, will open before Christmas offering a scaled down version of the Tiger Bills menu.

The Chapel in Taunton has been earmarked as the second Tiger Bills kitchen to open in a pub. Tiger Bills says the tie-ups allow it to use its existing supply chain and procurement power to offer Thai food within a traditional British pub.

Currently the group is working with independent pub operators but Lifestyle Group operations director Ioan Eyton-Jones said it is looking at the potential of working with pub groups in the future.

He said there has been a lot of interest in the Tiger Bills Kitchen concept because the relatively low cost makes it an attractive option to operate within an existing pub business.

Tiger Bills’ second London restaurant is due to open on 19 December in Hammersmith and Eyton-Jones expects to open another two to five restaurants within the M25 in the next 12-18 months and up to eight in the next 24 months.
