Under the agreement, the Brewfactory will sell a full range of Pieminister-branded pies, plus a number of starters and puddings.
For an up-front fee, the pie company will also provide the pub with a permanent open kitchen, staff training and business support.
The city centre pub is part of the adjoining Bradford Brewery. Both operations are due to open early next year. The 10 hectolitre Bradford Brewery will be the city centre’s first brewery in more than 50 years.
Future work
Bradford Brewery managing director Matthew Halliday said that if the tie up proves popular, the brewery would be keen to work with Pieminister to share the concept more widely across the area.
He said: “I must admit I’m feeling uncharacteristically pie-eyed at the thought of being able to offer the Bradford Brewery and Pieminister under one roof.”
Halliday added: “The two go together like, well, a pie and a pint. And with Yorkshire being one of the most prolific pie-eating counties in the whole country, we are expecting the whole package to go down a treat.”
Roll out
In September, Pieminister managing director Tristan Hogg told PubFood that the open kitchen concept was in place in three pubs, and was being rolled out to a further five.
He also claimed the company had signed a deal with Enterprise Inns to for it to be installed in 30 of its wet-led sites.
