The Proof is in the Pudding competition gives aspiring bakers the chance to have their ideal dessert added to a future Chef & Brewer menu.
Entrants can submit their recipes on the Chef & Brewer website, or via an app on its Facebook page. Closing date for submissions is 23 November.
Burr, who was awarded the title of ‘star baker’ a record five times in nine episodes during this year’s Great British Bake Off series, will then choose his top five recipes to go to a public vote.
Unusual ingredients
He said: “For me, baking has always been about experimenting with different flavour combinations and unusual ingredients. We are on the look-out for pudding creations that are innovative, original and exciting – something that is going to stand out from the rest and really make you want to try it.”
Heather Moore, brand manager for Chef & Brewer, added: “We are thrilled to team up with Richard in our search for the perfect pudding.
“We’re hoping to find pudding ideas that are both creative and delicious in equal measure – whether it’s an old favourite, a personal speciality or a classic pudding with a modern twist.
“We can’t wait to see what the British public come up with.”
Mixer prize
In addition to having their pudding featured on a Chef & Brewer menu, the overall winner will also receive a KitchenAid Mixer.
Burr finished third in this year’s series of the Great British Bake Off. The BBC has confirmed it will return for a sixth year in 2015.
