Publican Awards shortlisted for event industry award

The Publican Awards has been shortlisted for a prestigious event industry award.

The annual awards, run by the Publican’s Morning Advertiser (PMA), has been shortlisted for Awards Event of the Year in the CONNECT Awards - run by the Professional Publishers Association - which celebrate and reward the very best in events and live experiences.

This year’s Publican Awards – held in March – featured entertainment on the night from comedians John Bishop and Keith Lemon, as well as music from electronic string quartet Escala, exciting bars from top drinks companies and food from MasterChef: The Professionals winner Anton Piotrowski.

The awards took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane and were attended by 1,300 people - a ‘who's who’ of top pub company personnel and key industry suppliers.

'Must-attend'

The 2014 awards were the third year William Reed Business Media has run the event, after buying it with the acquisition of The Publican magazine from UBM in 2011. Since that point, the PMA team has worked tirelessly to re-establish the event as the best, most credible, and “one to win” for pub companies.

Tim Brooke-Webb, managing director of the hospitality division at William Reed Business Media, which publishes the PMA, said: “The Publican Awards is simply the biggest and best event in the pub trade calendar. We believe the extent and rigour of the judging process is head and shoulders above other publishing company awards and makes this such a well-respected award to win and must-attend event.

“The quality and scale of the award’s night, the creative ideas delivered in 2014 and the fact that these awards see our events, commercial and editorial teams working so effectively together to deliver such an excellent event means this recognition is thoroughly deserved.”

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Tues 2 December.
