CQS unveils new Garofalo pasta for children and babies

Italian supplier Continental Quattro Stagioni (CQS) has introduced a new pasta range for children and babies.

Produced by Garofalo, La Giostra dei Bambini (The Children's Carousel) comes in two variants – children and baby. Made from durum wheat semolina, the organic pasta is high in carbohydrates, protein and fibre.

The pasta for children comes in three shapes: Pazzielle (little toys); Motori (engines) – a smaller version of CQS’s Radiatore pasta, based on the radiator grill of a Bugatti; and Anistelle (moons and stars).

The shapes and rough texture help the sauce cling to the pasta, CQS claimed.

Babies’ range

The range for babies comes in four different tiny shapes: Squasille (little stars); Acchiette (hearts, clubs and diamonds); Pepelle (little tubes); and Freselle (little hoops). Each of the shapes can be cooked in four minutes.

Both ranges have been developed in collaboration with professor Luigi Greco, paediatrician at the University Federico II of Naples.

Sandro Bevilacqua, vice chairman of CQS said: “Our experience has shown that if the children are happy when eating out, then the parents and families are happy.

“This range of pastas is a simple and effective way for a busy chef to create a range of dishes that children and babies will enjoy.”

The children’s pasta is available in cases of 16 x 500g at a list price of £16.65.

The baby pasta is available in cases of 12 x 4 x 125g for a list price of £17.95.
