GBPA regional winner to open new pizza restaurant next month

A triple Great British Pub Awards (GBPA) regional winner has unveiled further details of his new pizza restaurant business, due to open next month in Chester.

Ian Wade, who runs the Ring O’ Bells in nearby Christleton, is to launch Urbano32 – described as a “pizza restaurant, bar and social meeting place” – in mid November.

The Trust Inns leasehold picked up the award for Best Family Pub, Best Wine Pub and Best Bar Team for the North West region in this year’s GBPAs.

Wade, along with business partner John Roberts, is looking to roll-out the pizza restaurant concept to five sites in the west Cheshire area over the next three years.

The focal point of the restaurant’s rustic, industrial interior will include an open kitchen featuring a handmade clay pizza oven.

Urbano32 will be serving sourdough pizzas alongside antipasti and daily specials.

Seasonal produce

Wade said the menu will have a progressive approach towards pizza and is committed to sourcing great seasonal and local produce.

He hoped there will be a thriving bar scene both before and after dining and an atmosphere where diners are encouraged to eat at the counter in Continental or stateside style.

He explained: “There’ll be a bespoke wine list together with a small but well-defined cocktail list, as well as a selection of craft beers and one draught lager.”

Hells, an American-hopped unfiltered 4.6% ABV lager, has been confirmed as the draught option.

Relaxed ambience

Urbano32 will be open from 8am serving tea, coffee and brunch.

Wade said: “Its relaxed morning ambience will appeal to everyone from shoppers to those wanting to meet for an early business meeting with access to free WiFi.”

“The interior design will be key to Urbano32s appeal with exposed brick walls, chunky woods, exposed beams, pipes and pillars, and a mix of fixed seating and booths.”

“Welcoming staff will provide the great service that, when coupled with the amazing food drink, will make the restaurant a fantastic addition to Chester’s dining scene.”
