The pioneers of the ‘deli-pub’ concept have launched a range of handmade condiments.

Crafted at the Jolly Farmers, in Betchworth, Surrey, Briscoe’s Jellies come in 12 different flavours including Ever So Mint, Curious Chilli and Tempting Thai.

Licensees Jon and Paula Briscoe, who have converted part of the pub into a delicatessen and farm shop, said they were delighted to take the condiments – which currently are used on the menu – to a wider audience.

The couple also announced plans to set up an online shop and website.

Natural progression

Paula Briscoe said: “The jellies have been popular on our menu for years, so I guess launching them as a standalone produce was a natural progression for us.”

“The process started with us looking to create the perfect mint sauce style jelly and then we just kept going.”

Visitors to the Jolly Farmers can see the jellies being made in the visible production area and purchase from the on-site deli.

The range will also soon be available online via their website www.thejollyfarmersreigate.co.uk and at selected stores in Surrey including Priory Farmshop, Garsons Farmshop, Kingfisher Farmshop and The Fox Revived pub – the sister pub to The Jolly Farmers.

Freehold

John and Paula secured the freeholds of the Jolly Farmers near Reigate and the Fox Revived, near Horley, also in Surrey, from Mitchells & Butlers back in 2010.

Downing Corporate Finance helped broker the deal.
