The awards ceremony, organised by the Publican’s Morning Advertiser, at the London Hilton on Park Lane is being presented by Sky Sports F1 presenter Natalie Pinkham.
National champions are being selected from 90 regional winners across 17 categories which cover all types of pub – from sports to food pubs. From these 17 category winners an overall Sky Great British Pub of the Year 2014 will be announced at the climax of the ceremony.
Entertainment at the event includes Abandoman, winners of the Hackney Empire New Act of the Year, who will be performing their own genre of Irish hip-hop. A Redtooth charity quiz will be held in aid of the Licensed Trade Charity with Mark “The Beast” Labbett from ITV’s the Chase. Bradley Wiggins’ and Geraint Thomas’ Team Sky Tour de France bikes will be on display and guests will have the chance to have their photo taken on the Formula One winner’s podium.
Guests will also be able to play sports including ten pin bowling and table tennis.
The Publican’s Morning Advertiser editor Rob Willock said: “The Great British Pub Awards is a very special event - the only national, pan-industry awards I can think of that celebrates the brilliance of individual pubs and the achievement of their licensees.
"Winners of the Great British Pub Awards go above the highest common denominators that matter most to pub customers and into the realms of the truly special."
