The Victoria in Mile End, east London, will focus on serving locally sourced ingredients from its open kitchen including those produced on the building’s roof garden such as fresh eggs, runner beans, tomatoes, marrows, strawberries and edible flowers.
The Charles Wells owned site will also open each morning serving freshly ground coffee from its artisan coffee bar which is accessible both inside and outside.
Supper Club
The first floor will house the Ssshh Supper Club – the same concept as at Yummy Pub Co site Somers Town Coffee House in north London – which will feature a trio of rooms including the ‘kitchen Room’ where customers can view the chefs creating dishes and the ‘Board Room’ which can accommodate parties and large groups.
A secret cocktail bar will be hidden behind a mirrored wall which can seat 40 and will serve bespoke cocktails made to order.
Cocktail caravan
The site also features Charlie’s Cocktail Caravan which can be found in the garden and can accommodate groups of up to eight with food and drink available to pre-order.
A number of cask ales will be available with new guest ales appearing at the bar each week.
The building has been restyled by the team behind the Somers Town Coffee House in Euston, north London.
Keeping it local
Yummy Pub Co. director Tim Foster said: “Seven pubs have disappeared from around this area and we were determined that the Victoria would not succumb to the same fate.
“We will be working with local suppliers, local producers and local people to ensure the Victoria remains a central part of the local community in every way.”
The Victoria will open 22 August and will join Yummy Pub Co. sites in London, Surrey and Kent.
