Meat and beer concept Pint Shop seeking second site

Meat and beer concept Pint Shop has announced plans to expand to a second site.

The announcement comes off the back a successful first six months for the Cambridge based operator with the team now keen to expand beyond Cambridge to areas such as London, Bath, Oxford, Bristol and Brighton.

The new site will echo the premium casual dining experience of the existing Pint Shop which is housed in a converted office building.

Pint Shop co-owner Richard Holmes said: “While the look and feel of the new site will be consistent with what we have done before, with meat, bread and beer at its core, it won’t be overly formulaic.”

New summer menu

The existing site has also launched a new summer menu that will focus on locally-sourced, seasonal produce and will offer a selection of dishes never seen before.

Over 80% of the options on the menu are new for summer, including five starters, two charcoal spit roast dishes, four charcoal grill items and two bakes and braises.

Highlights include the stuffed lamb shoulder with smoked lamb bacon (£16.50), the overnight pork belly with seasonal apricots (£13.80) and Pint Shop kebab with chilli and garlic sauce (£12.50).

Pint shop regularly rotates dishes on its menu and customers can now enjoy dining in the newly opened garden.

As well as selection of specially sourced beers from smaller breweries, Pint Shop offers 60 gin options, including a pea based gin handmade exclusively for the site by a local distillery.

“This menu retains our focus on meat and bread - perfect for enjoying with our selection of beers – but has a lighter feel for the summer.

“We’ve spent a lot of time putting it together and sourcing the right ingredients, including making some of them ourselves,” said Holmes.
