Hosts plans to capitalise on graduation season
The Wig and Pen in Sheffield is offering a graduation week celebration menu from 21 to 25 July. Mains will include braised belly of pork with black pudding and buttered summer cabbage, and pot roasted chicken breast with grain mustard mash.
Desserts include sticky date pudding with muscovado toffee sauce and chocolate brownie with fruit and nut praline. Two-courses are £17.95 and three-courses £20.95.
The Borough, Lancaster, Lancashire is also offering a three-course graduation week menu at £20 per head, including a free glass of Champagne for the graduate. The menu will feature pulled pork spring rolls; Moroccan lamb skewers with herb couscous; and pollock and spring onion fishcakes.
The Newton Arms, Ayr, Ayrshire is offering graduates two courses from its menu and a complimentary glass of Champagne for £11.95. Dishes include haggis stuffed chicken wrapped in smoked bacon; pulled pork on a crispy ciabatta with Cajun chips; and a creole style jambalaya. Graduates that eat at the pub will also be entered into a competition to win a trip for two to Rome.
From 14 to 18 July Circo Bar and Restaurant at the Albert Dock, Liverpool will be putting on nightly circus entertainment to celebrate graduation week. Acts will include fire breathers, acrobats and stilt walkers. Graduates will eat free and will receive a voucher for a free booth with shots included. Dishes include King prawns with garlic butter, beetroot risotto, and confit of duck leg.
Cloud 23 in Manchester, is putting on graduation afternoon tea throughout July, for £29.95 with a complimentary glass of Champagne. The menu will feature homemade cherry scones; chocolate and peppermint tart; strawberry and champagne jelly; and lemon drizzle cake.
