Sky Sports to show Top 4 on Premier League opening weekend

Sky Sports has announced a TV schedule that includes all of last season’s top four at least six times and every club at least three times by the end of November.

The opening weekend of the Premier League season sees action from Arsenal v Crystal Palace on Saturday 16 August; Liverpool v Southampton and Newcastle v Man City on Sunday 17 August - plus Burnley v Chelsea on Monday 18 August.

Over the course of the first four months of the season, viewers can also enjoy seven live Manchester United fixtures - including Louis van Gaal’s toughest tests against Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Other highlights include the North London derby between Arsenal and Spurs on Saturday 27 September, Chelsea v Arsenal on Sunday 5 October, and the Manchester derby on Sunday 2 November.

'Unrivalled'

David Rey, managing director of Sky Business, said: "Twenty of the 25 most-watched Premier League matches in an out-of-home venue last season were shown on Sky Sports and a quick look at our opening schedule of fixtures shows Sky Sports is still the place to go for more of the games that matter.

"With more football than ever before, including the launch of our fantastic new European football channel Sky Sports 5, our customers have never had such an unrivalled choice of football."
