BT Sport reveals first of televised Premier League matches

BT Sport will kick-off the new 2014-15 Premier League season on 16 August by showing the Manchester Utd v Swansea match.

The match will be Louis van Gaal’s first league game as the new Manchester United manager and will kick-off at Old Trafford at 12.45pm on the opening day of the new season.

The match is one of the highlights of BT Sport’s top picks during the first 13 rounds of the Premier League.

The broadcaster will show current champions Manchester City three times during its initial selection of TV matches, as well as in the traditional season curtain-raiser FA Community Shield match versus Arsenal.

Eye-catching

Bruce Cuthbert, director, commercial customers, BT Sport, said: “We are thrilled that pubs and clubs will be able to show their customers some superb matches for the start of the 2014-15 season.

"Our affordable prices mean that more pubs and clubs than ever will be enjoying the new Premier League season with BT Sport. On the opening day of the season, all eyes will be on Louis van Gaal fresh from the Netherlands’ World Cup efforts and the start of his tenure with Manchester United.

"We’ll also have plenty of games involving top teams playing each other. One that really catches the eye is when Chelsea travel to Anfield on 8 November."
