The Chelsea FC boss has agreed to carry out various roles for BT Sport, including making football programmes, acting as a football expert and giving a manager’s perspective, and becoming a BT Sport ambassador.
Mourinho kicks off his partnership with BT Sport with a role in the new TV advert which airs for the first time on Saturday 12 July at 20.50 before the Brazil v Netherlands World Cup game.
He said: “I’m looking forward to working with BT Sport. In their first year they have shown they are not afraid to challenge, are open to new ideas and want to do things differently. This is the kind of team and ambition that I want to work with.”
New adverts
The series of new TV ads will air as part of the campaign which celebrates moments from some of the biggest games shown on BT Sport last season.
The campaign illustrates the line: “You have to see it to believe it” and showcases the effects on players, managers, spectators and fans.
Premier league players to feature in the ads include Daniel Sturridge, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rio Ferdianand, as well as Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.
