Ribble Valley Inns opens first Cheshire site

Ribble Valley Inns has opened its fifth site and the first in Cheshire.

The company which is headed up by top chef Nigel Haworth and Craig Bancroft, who also own Northcote Manor, have opened the Nag’s Head in Haughton Moss, Cheshire.

The new site will be headed up by general manager Darren Gallagher and head chef is Michael Eminson, who has worked closely with Haworth as a development chef across all Ribble Valley Inns' sites.

Michelin-starred chef Haworth has created a British inspired menu that celebrates the Cheshire region and sources ingredients from a range of local suppliers.

Dishes on the menu include a tempura of native lobster platter with peas, broad beans, scorched lettuce, Alfonso mango, pickled ginger and coriander dressing (£19.50) and a starter of honey cured salmon with blackened leeks, lemon jelly and brown bread (£7.50).

Main courses include a poached cornfed chicken breast with herb tea butter sauce, asparagus and new potatoes (£14.50). The site also has a Esse charcoal grill with the menu offering grilled dishes such as a 10oz top rib (£16), 8oz picahna rump (£18) and 7oz fillet (£26) 28 day aged Angus steaks.

The Nag’s Head is running a promotion where customers can win a free meal for two every month for a whole year.

The site is also running a weekly Monday Club, where customers can bring their own wine along to enjoy with their lunch or dinner and a Celebration of Strawberries promotion which will run throughout June.
