BrewDog scooped two awards at the BII Scotland ceremony this week, two years after an embarrassing debacle at the same event.

The Scottish brewer and pub operator won Scottish Brewery of the Year and Best Business Initiative at the annual awards on Sunday (11 May).

The news comes 24 months after ‘Trophygate’, when global drinks firm Diageo, sponsor of the 2012 Bar Operator of the Year category, stripped BrewDog of the award by forcing the BII to change the judges’ decision at the last minute.

The award was given to another company which refused to accept it as it had ‘BrewDog’ engraved on the trophy as the winner.

The list of 2014 winners in full is:

Boda Bars – Bar Operator of the Year

Edinburgh University Students’ Association – Late Night Operator of the Year

Fuller Thomson – Scottish Training Award

Tickety Boos Dundee – Social Responsibility Award

BrewDog – Best Business Initiative

BrewDog – Scottish Brewery of the Year

Whiski Rooms – Whisky Bar of the Year

The Scran & Scallie – Food Operator of the Year

Caroline Mair, The Holyrood 9A – Bar Personality of the Year
