English Wine Week to be bigger than ever

English Wine Producers (EWP), the body in charge of promoting English wines, is promising to “step up” activity around English Wine Week this year.

The event, which will run from 24 May to 1 June across the UK, has been given a new logo and the body has invested in a dedicated project manager, Zoey Davey, to manage the event.

“Having Zoë on board has given the initiative a huge boost with uptake quadrupling since last year,” said marketing director, Julia Trustram Eve.

“We want to encourage people who have never tried English wine to just give it a go and we’re confident that the new branding will help to raise awareness.”

A range of free PoS is available from EWP for pubs and bars wanting to take part in the event, including menu cards, bunting and banners.

Last year four English wines were awarded Gold medals at the annual International Wine Challenge, with a further 19 winning silver.
