A total of 10 beers from overseas will be available at the 17 day festival, which is scheduled to run from 28 March to 13 April, none of which have been available in the UK before, said festival organiser Gary Holmes.
They include a Tea Leaf IPA from New Zealand’s Yeastie Boys brewery; an African Pale Ale from Standeaven in South Africa and a Spanish Red Ale from Mateo & Bernabe.
These will join a further 40 beers from UK breweries, including Coiled Spring from Thwaites, Chocolate Slug Porter from the RCH Brewery, Raspberry Rose from the Lancaster Brewery and El Dorado from Hawkshead.
“We are thrilled to be serving such a fantastic selection of beers from across the world as well as those brewed in the UK,” said Holmes.
“The festival will be the perfect way for real ale enthusiasts to enjoy a range of excellent beers from overseas brewers.
“It will also give them an opportunity to support brewers throughout the UK, as the pubs are featuring many of their beers.”
Tasting notes for all the beers will be available in the company’s outlets, and beer flights, comprising three third of a pint glasses, will be on offer for the same price as a pint to encourage trial of new beers.
Last month Wetherspoon announced it would be serving beer in cans across the estate.
