Weston Castle, the northern England-based pub operator, has secured property leases on three pubs owned by Star Pubs & Bars.

The White Horse at Irlam, Manchester, the Old Bridge House in Blackpool, Lancashire, and the Station Hotel Altrincham, Cheshire, are described as wet-led community locals in good locations, which are trading well.

It’s the first time that Weston Castle has taken pubs on shorter term, non-full repairing & insuring leases; it has signed three-year leases on the sites. The company also operates 25 freeholds and two pubs on long leases.

Chris Tulloch, Weston Castle managing director, said: “We like the Heineken brand range and have a good relationship with the company stretching back over a number of years on the freehold side of our business.

“These pubs fit our estate profile and it felt the right time to extend our partnership and try the leased pub model with Star Pubs & Bars.”
