The event at Anglian Country Inns’ Hermitage Rd. in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, will also see the list of top 50 gastropubs in the UK revealed by host food writer and Great British Menu critic Matthew Fort. Tom Kerridge’s the Hand & Flowers in Marlow, Buckinghamshire has taken the crown for the last two years.
Finalists for Newcomer of the year are Killingworth Castle, Wootton, Oxfordshire; Michelin-starred Tom Kitchin’s the Scran & Scallie, Stockbridge, Edinburgh; and Parlour, Kensal Green, north-west London.
The Front of House Manager of the Year winner will be chosen from Dan Cramp of Moleface Pub Company’s the Larwood & Voce Pub & Kitchen, West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire; Ben Paul of Peach Pubs’ the Black Horse in Woburn, Bedfordshire; and Holly Eggleton of the Michelin-starred Pony & Trap, Chew Magna, Somerset. The category is sponsored by Highland Park whisky.
The contenders for Business Innovation of the Year are Whiting & Hammond; Battlesteads Hotel & Restaurant in Wark-on-Tyne, Nortumberland; and the Eagle & Child in Ramsbottom, Lancashire.
The Gastropub Chef of the Year, Highest Climber and Highest New Entry winners will also be revealed.
Almost 2,000 votes were collated from industry figures including chefs, food writers and pubco chiefs.
