Odessa vodka and Squire's Gin to be relaunched

Odessa vodka and Squire’s London Dry Gin are being re-launched with a new look as “house” brands.

The two brands were acquired by the C&C Group, which also owns the Magners cider, Gaymers and Tennent’s lager brands, last year.

They now form part of the International Wine Services (IWS) portfolio, a trading arm of the group that looks after its wines and spirits.

“We are excited to be able to offer these fantastic spirit brands as part of our growing range,” said Shaun Goode, IWS commercial director.

“We know that many of our customers are looking for great looking and tasting house vodka and gin, but also want to be able to maximize their margin opportunity.”

The new designs include a reworked black logo and a more modern looking bottle for Odessa, while the Squire’s Gin label now makes more of the botanicals it is made with and the squire character that gave the brand its name.

“The addition of these brands is a natural progression for us, building on our strategy of providing great quality accessible brands to the On Trade, including wine brands such as Oliver & Greg’s, Moondarra, Cape Promise and Trulli.”

Odessa is a triple distilled Ukrainian-style vodka.

Squire’s London Dry Gin dates back to the 1960s, and is reportedly named after Sir Thomas Pope of Dorset.

Last week workers a the Gaymer Cider Company, owned by C&C, were voting over possible industrial action in a dispute over pay.
