Pub groups and licensees kick off January sales

Managed pub chains and licensees have launched their January sales hoping to drive business during the traditionally quiet month.

Young’s pubs are running a promotion called 'Be my Bestie' which is encouraging people to download a discount voucher from their website and take out a friend. The vouchers mean the customer buys two main courses and gets the lower priced dish for free. The offer is available all-day Monday to Thursday and from 6pm on Sundays from Thursday 2 January to Thursday 30 January 2014 inclusive.

Fuller’s, the London based pub retailer and brewer, is also offering a downloadable voucher offering £5 off a meal for two, or £10 off a meal for four throughout January and February 2014 at participating pubs.

Revolution, the vodka bar chain, has launched a 50% off food deal for people who book a table for six or more online during the month. The chain is also promoting its new range of 30 beers and ciders and on 1 February, the chain will be launching its new drinks menu.

While the Mitchells and Butlers owned All Bar One is offering 25% off all food & drink for customers who sign up to its news and offers online. Customers can download a voucher from the ‘thank you’ page.

Its brand Harvester is also offering discounted meals. It is offering 20% off its menu when customers spend £25 or more until 12th February. 

TCG Pubs and Bars is offering customers 2 for 1 on food and cocktails via downloadable voucher on its website www.the1440.co.uk​.

The JD Wetherspoon January sale will run until 23 January with offers on food and drink. Pasta pomodoro, Wiltshire cured ham, eggs and chips, chicken wraps, jacket potatoes with a choice of fillings and soup with bloomer bread are the dishes available in the deal for £2.99 each. Three of the dishes are in the under 500 calorie section of the menu. Cut price drinks include Coldwater Creek wine, Guinness, Carlsberg, Heineken and selected spirit mixers.

Cocktails

The ETM Group has launched a new range called 5-a-day cocktails that will be available throughout January in its One Canada Square restaurant and bar (Canary Wharf), the Botanist on Sloane Square, and Chiswell Street Dining Rooms (Barbican).

The cocktails include Beetroot Mary with juiced beetroot with raspberries, coriander, lemon juice, Kamm & Sons and pepper and Green Twist with juiced spinach, spirulina, Kamm & Sons and celery.  

The Millstone at Mellor, the Thwaites Inns of Character, is featuring a range of healthy guilt-free dishes on the specials board throughout the month to help customers shed the post-Christmas pounds.

Beer

Wadworth’s, has launched a lower alcohol beer which is  on sale in their pubs during the month of January.  Best Intentions​ is brewed with less alcohol and less sugars and has a ABV of  2.8%.
