Hotel Inspector Ruth Watson stars in new TV show

TV hotel inspector Ruth Watson has launched a TV series focused on online reviewers.

Ruth Watson Means Business is a 15-part series on Channel 4 that will explore the criticisms made to businesses, including pubs, by online reviewers.

The programme allows each party to have their say and meet face-to-face in the finale and airs today (9 December).

"The point is to allow both parties to have their say and, in the finale, to meet face-to-face," said Watson. "We would have loved to have filmed with some of the more extreme, even vicious, reviewers but – no surprise – they remained resolutely anonymous.

Fireworks

"There’s nothing new about cowards using bullying tactics. So, most of the reviewers are perfectly reasonable people with perfectly reasonable complaints and comments. Most of the business owners reacted really positively but there were some fireworks along the way."

Watson and husband David along with long-term friend Tim Sunderland own and run the Crown and Castle in orford, Suffolk. It has 21 bedrooms and a bistro that serves "unpretentious" food.
