Raymond Blanc adds pubs to White Brasserie

TV chef Raymond Blanc plans to launch a number of pubs over the next year.

They will open under his White Brasserie company name with two planned by mid-2014. Three sites within the M25 are currently under negotiation. White Brasserie owns two pubs already - the King’s Head in Teddington, Middlesex and the Queen’s Head in Weybridge, Surrey.

White Brasserie chief executive Mark Derry told The Daily Telegraph: "We all feel that the pub area is the place we should develop more. There’s a real opportunity.

"We’ve taken these pubs from just £8,000 a week turnover to £35,000-£40,000 turnover."

The new pubs will be about "fresh, good food" and will not be aiming for Michelin standard cooking.

Blanc owns the Brasserie Blanc chain of restaurants as well as two-Michelin-starred Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Great Milton, Oxford.
