Eclectic buys Pitcher & Piano Manchester for Lola Lo
The Avanti Capital-backed group that’s currently preparing for a £20m float on the Alternative Investment Market, has acquired a lease on the site, which takes its estate to 20 venues.
The 560-capacity venue is to re-open under the Lola Lo tiki-themed concept on 12 December.
Manchester will be the first Lola Lo with a casual-dining operation, called the Island Grill, which will feature a menu that includes big skewers, baskets, dogs and the teriyaki-glazed Big Kahuna burger.
Big success
The venue will operate across three levels – lower ground, ground and mezzanine - and feature three bars, two DJs.It will open seven days a week from mid-morning until the early hours. “Late-evening sessions will highlight a varied range of music carefully chosen to appeal to each night’s audience, and live performances will also be a key feature,” the company said.
Unusual features at the venue will include a dress-up box for customers.
“This acquisition reinforces the company’s stated policy to expand at the rate of around two to three sites a year”, said Lee Nicolson, Eclectic’s operations director.
“Manchester is a great city. Our nearby Sakura venue is a big success and we are certain that the quality and style associated with the Lola Lo brand will also make a significant contribution to Manchester’s bar scene.”
