Stonegate launches advanced cellar management course
So far 30 employees have completed the pub operator’s one and a half day course for cellar experts and large cask sites, which involves practical and theoretical elements and gives candidates the opportunity to look closely into the brewing process, analyse the differentiation of beers, tour the brewery, brew their own beer and take part in a tutored tasting session.
The training, jointly developed with Stonegate’s ale partner Greene King, also provides an analysis of the market and its trends, product news, the ale consumer, beer brands and ranges and how to deliver outstanding beer events.
Qualification
“We are delighted that at Stonegate we are the first to deliver this for our employees,” Lee Woolley, Stonegate’s head of learning said.
“It demonstrates that we are serious about cask ale and about training our managers so that they may lead from the front in creating quality cask ale experiences in their pubs for customers.”
In addition, approximately 700 Stonegate employees are due to complete their ABCQ (Award in Beer and Cellar Quality) qualification over the next few months.
