Brooklyn Brewery, the American brewer, is to open its first pop-up bar in the UK, in Leeds.

The Brooklyn Pop-up, which will also a food offer from Leeds-based restaurant group Red’s True BBQ, is to open in The Calls section of the city.

It will accommodate eight draught lines and several bottled beers. More than 20 different Brooklyn beers will be available, plus “Americanised” versions of British, Belgian, German and Japanese beers.

Regarding its decision to open a pop-up in Leeds, the brewer said: "The UK in particular has shown an appetite for Brooklyn beer. Its place as Brooklyn’s third best market outside of New York City proves it.

"We’re also just plain comfortable with Leeds’ slightly outsider status. Its gritty yet inventive warehouse conversions are reminiscent of Brooklyn.

"What better place to set up a home away from home than a post-industrial city displaying exciting evidence of a revitalized culture all over town?"
