The Young’s Academy, provided by CPL, is said to contain improved e-learning programmes for employees to gain the knowledge required to be safe and compliant in their role.
Features include an internal messaging platform and a virtual ‘bookshelf’, which ensures relevant information is available to all employees 24/7. Both messaging and bookshelf tools will be accessible from mobile devices later this year so staff can use the console on the go.
The pubco, which operates 125 managed and 76 tenanted pubs, said it has used e-learning in the managed department for the past nine years, as part of a “blended approach” to the learning and development of employees.
According to Young’s, separate deals for the Academy are available for managed and tenanted sites. The pubco also plans to offer an online appraisal service this summer through CPL.
Heather Williamson, manager of recruitment, learning and development at Young’s, said: “The Young’s Academy console will help senior managers and general managers track all team members’ learning and development, which will enhance the succession planning and career development of individuals in an objective way.”
Geronimo Inns, acquired by Young’s in 2010, will also benefit from a new bespoke e-learning console in the form of Geronimo Learning.
