Ossett Brewing Company eyes pub expansion

Ossett Brewing Company, the Yorkshire brewer and pub operator, aims to open four pubs this year and is looking at plans to expand the brewery.

According to the Yorkshire Post, the pubs include two in the Leeds area, one in Bradford and another one in York.

Joint managing director Mike Inman said: “We are also looking at potentially expanding the brewery, which is growing at a rate of about 15% per year. It is getting to the point where we are almost at capacity.”

The company operates 19 pubs, including 12 freeholds, and Inman told the newspaper: “We hope to continue growth at the rate of two or three sites a year; we’ll continue to look for Hop sites in cities such as York, Manchester and Nottingham, but also look at opportunities for purchasing and refurbishing community pubs closer to home in Yorkshire, particularly West Yorkshire.”

Ossett hopes to create another 30 to 40 jobs with this year’s pub openings.
