Meantime Brewing Company appoints non-executive chairman
Meantime Brewing Company, the London brewer led by Nick Miller, has appointed Gary Whitlie, former managing director of Miller Brands, as its non-executive chairman.
Whitlie spent 27 years at SABMiller in a number of roles and left the company two years ago after a stint as president of Ursus Breweries, the company’s operation in Romania. Previous to that he spent three years as managing director of its Hungarian operations.
He is the latest former Miller Brands employee to join the company, with Richard Myers, former brand manager at Miller, and Melanie Smith, Meantime’s sales director, joining in the past 12 months.
Whitlie joins Meantime as the firm tries out ‘tank beer’ in three London pubs owned by Young’s.
