Top speakers lined up for Tenanted Pub Company Summit

A stellar line-up of figures from across the tenanted pub sector and beyond are to speak at a major conference in London on 17 June.

Business Secretary Vince Cable, who is overseeing the proposed statutory code for tenanted pubcos, is the keynote speaker at the Tenanted Pub Company Summit at the Landmark Hotel.

Enterprise Inns chief executive Ted Tuppen will talk on the subject of success in a complex world. Admiral Taverns managing director Kevin Georgel will discuss the company’s journey and Marston’s estates director Iain Jackson will talk on franchising and the future of the tenanted model.

Andy Slee, external affairs and central operations director at Punch Taverns, will cover innovation and developments at the pubco, while Chris Moore, property and strategy director at Star Pubs & Bars, will talk about the new era for the Heineken-owned operator.

Charles Wells Pub Company managing director Peter Wells will give the lowdown on the company’s innovative Passport to Profit scheme. Mike Clist, central operations director for Fuller’s tenanted division, will talk on enhancing the tenanted package, and a group of multiple lessees will give their views of the pubco/tenant relationship.

British Beer & Pub Association chief executive Brigid Simmonds is to offer her thoughts on statutory regulation and progress under self-regulation. Her talk will be followed by a debate on the future for self-regulation, featuring Simmonds, Tuppen, Slee, Simon Clarke of Fair Pint and Labour’s shadow business minister Toby Perkins.

The full-day event will begin with results of exclusive research from CGA into what tenants think of their business and their pubcos.
