Claude Bosi opens second pub the Malt House in Fulham
The Malt House in Fulham, south-west London is owned by Brakspear and has undergone a £750,000 refurbishment funded by both parties. Marcus McGuinness, formerly head chef at Hibiscus, Bosi’s two-Michelin-starred Mayfair restaurant, is in charge of the food offer, which is classic British pub food with a focus on seasonal ingredients.
A selection of bar snacks will be available including Welsh rarebit with rhubarb chutney (£5); sausage roll with brown sauce (£4.50); and sourdough and salted butter (£4). Main dishes such as honey and mustard glazed ham hock with creamy mash (£15) and pan fried bream with Moroccan spiced cous cous, yogurt and coriander (£17) are on the menu with burgers and steaks cooked in a charcoal oven. The average spend per head is £27 for three courses.
The pub also houses six bedrooms, which are expected to be popular with sports fans visiting the nearby Chelsea football ground.
The Malt House will open from 7.30am for breakfast until 10.30 before opening for lunch and dinner services with a break in the afternoon. Weekend opening times differ slightly.
The Bosi brothers also run the Fox & Grapes in Wimbledon, south-west London. Cedric manages and oversees both pubs while Claude provide guidance as well as running Hibiscus.
