Ooberstock, the drinks distributor, has secured £600,000 in a second round of fundraising to take the business “to the next level of growth”.

The finance was raised mainly through existing shareholders. The company said it would now offer its customers free delivery on all orders.

Managing director Arran Heal said: “2012 was certainly a challenging year to launch a new business but we had absolute confidence that Ooberstock would be effective in the marketplace. Securing this additional funding demonstrates the level of confidence in the business and will enable us to continue to grow, offering the most efficient ordering system, reliable and flexible delivery, extensive choice and competitive pricing for our customers.

“As a thank you to our 800 existing customers and newcomers to the service, we are pleased to introduce free delivery on all orders. At a time of unavoidable industry price rises and inflationary pressures we are determined to continue to offer our customers great service and great value.”

Ooberstock said more than 7,000 pubs, bars, clubs and hotels have registered for the service. Drinks companies that have listing with Ooberstock include Diageo, C&C Group, Heineken UK, AB Inbev UK, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Britvic Soft Drinks, Drinks 21, Pernod Ricard, Budweiser Budvar, Red Bull, SHS Sales & Marketing, Highland Spring and Wells & Youngs.
