Revealed: WaverleyTBS creditor list in full

Nearly 200 companies are listed as creditors of WaverleyTBS following the company’s collapse last month.

A total of £40.5m was owed by the distributor to 199 suppliers, including more than £6m to Diageo, £4m to Heineken and around £3m to both AB InBev and Bacardi Brown-Forman.

Seven companies were owed more than £1m and a further nine between £0.5m and £1m (see list in full, below).

Administrator Deloitte, which published the list of creditors, added: “Certain stock held by the company is the subject of retention of title claims. In estimating the realisable value of stock approximately £10m has been deducted to reflect this. It should be noted that there will be a corresponding reduction in the value of liability to trade creditors, which has not been reflected in this statement.”

Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs was owed £11.9m in duty, VAT, PAYE and National Insurance.

One drinks supplier told the Publican's Morning Advertiser that its financial exposure to Waverley’s demise would have been worse, but their Waverley account manager warned them on the day of the company’s entry into administration not to send that morning’s delivery.
