Freehold pubs to go under the hammer at Sidney Phillips auction

Twelve freehold pubs, with guide prices ranging from £75,000 to £220,000, are set to go under the hammer at an auction held by Sidney Phillips on Wednesday, 5 December.

The pubs, all in Wales, apart from one, are from pubcos, brewers, private individuals and mortgagees. They include:

■ The Tredegar Arms, Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil, Mid Glamorgan, South Wales, which has a guide price of £145,000.

■ The Four Bells, St Athan, Vale of Glamorgan, in South Wales (£175,000).

■ General Picton, Nantyffyllon, Mid Glamorgan, South Wales (£125,000).

■ Cross Keys, Cefn Hengoed, Mid Glamorgan, South Wales (£160,000).

■ Gwyn Arms, Alltwen, Swansea Valley, South Wales  (£75,000).

■ New Inn, Mountain Ash, Rhondda Cynon Taf, South Wales (£75,000).

■ Tradesmans Arms in Machen, near Caerphilly, South Wales (£165,000).

■ Royal Hotel in Treharris, near Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales (£125,000).

■ Castell-y-Bwch Inn, Henllys, Monmouthshire, South Wales (£220,000).

■ Coity Castle, Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan, South Wales (£160,000).

■ Oddfellows, Newport, South Wales (£125,000).

■ Spirit, Gloucester (£195,000).

The auction will be held at Celtic Manor in Newport, South Wales, at 2.30pm.

A previous Sidney Phillips auction in July saw 10 freehold pubs sell, seven of them prior to the event.
