An overall winner will also be awarded outstanding individual achievement for the “most impact in the way beer is marketed in the UK”.
Judges will include on-trade and off-trade operators, beer journalists, bloggers and award-winning marketeers.
Details of how to enter can be found at www.beermarketingawards.co.uk with the deadline for entries on 10 December 2012. Winners will be announced at an event on 13 March 2013 at the Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London.
The awards were set up by PRs James Cuthbertson and James Allen, and beer writer Pete Brown.
Cuthbertson said: “We’re seeing levels of growth in the beer sector that are unthinkable in other areas of the hospitality sector. We’re also enjoying a better standard of product in both the on-trade and off-trade than at any time before, with inspiration from the history books, innovation from other countries and the rise of some great brewers from our own shores. We are also seeing brands large and small, working hard to capture the enthusiasm and spend from a new brand of beer drinker.”
Allen added: “The beer market is at the forefront of multi-channel marketing and is widely recognised as innovating in the social media space – to create an awards event to celebrate this seemed like an obvious step. We expect the event to reward the best in the business, whilst at the same time, being a great excuse to get likeminded individuals to get in a room and share our passion – great beer.”
