Stonegate Pub Company, the managed operator, has appointed its first “success coach” to help progress the careers of its deputy managers on its new six-month Accelerated Leadership programme.

Former area manager Jon Perkins has been given the role, which will involve tailored support, development and personal coaching.
The Accelerated Leadership programme involves a mix of residential workshops, business building projects, coaching sessions and one-to-one mentoring, all under a mentor.
“We have designed bespoke programmes across the business for our operators and the Accelerate Leadership programme is specifically designed for deputy managers” said Lee Woolley, head of learning & development.

“We have a huge amount of talented people within the company and combining that aptitude with expert tutors and mentors, both internal and external, will enable rapid career progression for those on the programme.”
The scheme follows the recent launch of its “Albert’s” e-learning programme, which has seen 70,000 modules undertaken within a matter of months.

Stonegate said it makes 70% of appointments from within.
