Bulmers campaign to celebrate 125 years of cider making

A new campaign for Bulmers cider called  “In the Beginning”aims to highlight the brand's 125 year history.

Launching on 3 September, poster, press and digital ads, as well as a take-over of Victoria station in London, will run with the strapline, “Great British Cider since 1887.”

“Bulmers is in a unique position in the modern cider category,” said Lawson Mountstevens, on-trade managing director at brand owner Heineken.

“Everyone knows it is a modern, innovative cider but what many are less familiar with is our exciting and colourful history going back 125 years to when the Bulmers brothers first started making cider in Hereford.”

The campaign will happen in two parts, with the first telling the story of how Bulmers was first made and the second celebrating everything modern drinkers like about the brand.

“We want the new campaign to celebrate the way Bulmers brings modernity, relevance and innovation to the cider category in the 21st century, while sharing our unrivalled heritage as a cider pioneer,” said Mountstevens.

The campaign will continue into next year, with plans for in-store and online activity and events.
