Details of the deal have not been made available, but BrewDog has confirmed that it has signed “a partnership deal that will result in BrewDog Stockholm”.
On 24 July, company founder James Watt Tweeted: “Very excited to be close to signing a deal for BrewDog Stockholm. Been working on this for a while with some amazing people. It will rock.”
In January, a spokeswoman for BrewDog said that “there could potentially be one [bar] outside the UK by the end of the year.” She said that Europe would be the main focus, although Tokyo was also mooted.
Sweden is among the countries where BrewDog has been focusing on exports this year.
At the start of the year the company said it planned to open 10 sites in 2012. It currently operates sites in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Camden in London, Nottingham, Newcastle and Camden, and recently secured outlets for future openings in Birmingham and Bristol.
BrewDog has appointed its first finance director, Neil Simpson.
