Yesterday was very good yet again - our food takings were well up as they were on Monday. Our bar takings were also well up, a little bit worse than the Monday, but not massively down by any means.

I have spoken to my husband and asked about this morning and he said it was a lot quieter than yesterday. I’m not sure whether that is because of the weather or because of some of the ancillary workers who help the athletes going back as they have different shift patterns. It could be anything to be honest.

Our delivery turned up on time yesterday so that is sorted, and both of our beer deliveries have been on time this week with the large lorry having been allowed down the road which has been set aside for larger vehicles.

We were getting a hell of a lot of foreign support staff in yesterday, some from Brazil, some from Ukraine and others from Spain and Australia. It is still a very nice atmosphere and we finished up at 1.30am like the previous few days.

Overall trade since start of Olympics

We seem to be doing ok so far but I know some people in Plaistow, which is not that far from Stratford, who have been very quiet, and I have heard it is the same for a couple of pubs in the West End.

My niece’s partner works for one of the Wetherspoon pubs in the city which opens early for breakfast and gets very busy but he said it was exceptionally quiet. Perhaps what the Government said about keeping away has done just that. I also know that some of the cabbies in Stratford are not doing as well.

Gold rush

I was following it yesterday and I thought we might get a gold medal in the equestrian but sadly we just missed out. Hopefully we’ll pick one up in the cycling today.
