Somerset cider maker Thatchers has introduced a new oval label for its 7.4% ABV Katy cider.

The label details the style of cider, ABV and tasting notes, and creates a family identity with Thatchers’ other premium heritage ciders, Thatchers 2011 Vintage and Katy Rosé.

Katy was the first single variety cider produced by the company and is described as light and medium dry.

It started life as a niche product and has become one of the most popular premium bottled ciders in the UK, according to managing director Martin Thatcher.

“We believe that the packaging will appeal to those customers that really know their cider, and appreciate authentic single varieties and special blends,” Thatcher said.

He went on to say that he hopes to attract new drinkers while retaining existing customers.
