Pieminister: opening a pop-up shop
Premium pie maker Pieminister is opening a pop-up shop in east London at the end of the month (28 November).

The shop in Shoreditch’s pop-up mall Boxpark will offer the same prices as the company’s existing shop in Gabriel’s Wharf London.

The shop will sell Pieministers range of pies, such as its Moo pie (steak and ale), minty lamb pie (lamb, mint, carrot and swede) and wildshroom and asparagus pie with shallots with sides including mash, gravy and peas (£7). An extra 50p will add shallots and Cheddar cheese — the Mothership.

It will also be selling its range of new large sausage rolls (£2.50), drinks and cakes. There will be seating for 20 inside and a further 40 outside.

“We’re so excited to be a part of Boxpark, the world’s first pop-up mall,” said Jon Simon, co-founder. “Good pie and mash is exactly what people need right now: comfort food that is quick, unpretentious, affordable and delicious. I love east London. It is one of the mst forward-thinking parts of the UK. Pie and mash has always been part of the culture in the East End and hopefully what we have to offer will be just what the area has been waiting for — traditional modern fare with a modern twist.”

A spokesman added: “We see this new venture as a great chance for us communicate the whole pieminister experience to a new audience in a great new space — a refurbished shipping container decked out in our striking Pieminister style.”

Pieminister already has six shops across London, Bristol and Oxford and will soon open its first out of England in Amsterdam.
