Staley: new role at Hook Norton
Adrian Staley, national sales director at Cornish brewer St Austell, is to join Oxfordshire brewer Hook Norton as joint managing director.

Staley, who also ran St Austell’s managed pubs estate in the past, will have responsibility for commercial activity, including sales, marketing and the pub division at Hook Norton. Fellow joint MD James Clarke will lead on the brewing and distribution operations.

Before joining St Austell, Staley worked for brewer Moorland that was later bought by Greene King. He worked on the Old Speckled Hen brand.

Hook Norton chairman Jonathan Paveley said: “The Hook Norton Board and shareholders are very ambitious for the company and we have been looking to strengthen the leadership team for some time so that we are resourced to realise our ambitions to develop our award winning beer brands and brewery.

"Our agenda is simply too large for one executive director and we are thrilled to be able to attract someone of Adrian’s calibre to complement James’ exceptional brewing talents.”

Staley said: “I am very excited by the fantastic opportunities we have with Hook Norton’s beers and pubs. Alongside James Clarke’s passion for brewing, Hook Norton is entering an exciting period in its growth and I am looking forward to getting started. I have enjoyed a fantastic 12 years at St Austell Brewery and wish St Austell well for the future.”

He is to join Hook Norton after working his notice period at St Austell.
