Under the direction of chef Giancarlo Caldesi, customers at three participating gastropubs were given a masterclass on how to cook Italian-style before serving the three-course meals to their family and friends.
On 22 October a fourth ‘long lunch’ will take place at the Star & Anchor, Ealing, west London.
The dishes cooked were developed by Caldesi to match with Birra Moretti, with the lager used in some of the recipes. Dishes included Birra Moretti pancakes stuffed with crab in a spinach sauce and sausage, pepper & Birra Moretti stew.
“The long, relaxed family meal is at the heart of the Italian lifestyle, and that is reflected in the care that goes into preparing the dishes,” said Caldesi. “It’s wonderful to have an opportunity to demonstrate the Italian passion for food at the Casa Moretti Long Lunch events.”
