ALMR focuses on making most of social media revolution
Jason Wollington, of marketing and PR agency Red Beetle, Brian Whiting of Kent-based pub group Whiting & Hammond and Yaser Martini, of social media technology firm MePlease, will talk baout how pubs can take advantage of the 750m people that now use Facebook and 2m tweets that are sent per day.
“There is not a single reason available why retail businesses should not using social media for dialogue with existing and potential customers,” said Wollington.
“So we’ll aim to explain why social media is probably the single most significant communication link with customers since the introduction of the telephone.”
Whiting added: “Whiting & Hammond are having fantastic results promoting events through the social media network which is resulting in huge savings against the conventional methods of advertising, and will be explaining how we have achieved this.”
The second half of the event will see Campaign for Real Ale chief executive Mike Benner and Nick Pring of Realpubs make the case for individual flair against the idea of branding while John Barnes, of Judo Marketing, and Ed Turner of Youngs & Geronimo will make the case for the consistency branded bars offer.
The event, starting at 12.30pm, at Downing College, Cambridge, on 29 September, will be followed by a drinks reception and buffet supper at La Tasca, Cambridge, and “retail inspection” of the city.
