Eclectic to open Lola Lo in Oxford and Cambridge

Eclectic Clubs & Bars is to spend £850,000 opening two Polynesian-influenced Lola Lo nightclubs in Oxford and Cambridge.

Eclectic Clubs & Bars, the Avanti Capital-backed late night operator, is to spend £850,000 opening two Polynesian-influenced Lola Lo nightclubs in Oxford and Cambridge.

The 190-capacity Oxford site is due to open on 7 April on the site of a former Po Na Na bar. The Cambridge site, which was formerly the Soul Tree and is due to open on 27 May, operates across three floors and has a capacity of 520.

Eclectic already operates Lola Lo bars in Brighton and Norwich.

The Lola Lo concept re-creates Polynesian décor featuring bamboo, hand-carved woods, evocative lighting, private booths, table service and a dance floor.

The clubs will trade five days a week, offering a variety of student-branded mid-week nights, and a "dazzling array of cocktails".

Reuben Harley, managing director of Eclectic Clubs & Bars, said: "Eclectic is delighted to be able to open these two new venues to further consolidate our position as the UK's biggest Tiki-bar operator."
